#1 - Announcing Subtract Protocol

Yesterday we created an itch.io page for Subtract Protocol, the game that we have been working on for the past year.
It's a great pleasure to show everyone what the result of our hard work is, and we hope you are intrigued by what you see.

What is Subtract Protocol

Subtract Protocol is a first person action game where you fight enemies, solve puzzles, and escape from familiar yet foreign and hostile environments.

Throughout the game you will explore an environment that you faintly recognize but which has become different and dangerous, and when you get out of one nightmare, you may find yourself in another one.

Follow us to find out more about what you'll experience in Subtract Protocol upcoming devlogs, although we won't spoil too much.

Tools used to create Subtract Protocol

We have been using free and open source tools to create the game, and it has been great to see that it is possible to create what we wanted using just these tools. The game itself is being made in Godot Engine, and all of the visuals are created using Blender and GIMP.

We went with a retro, low poly and low res look, so hopefully it is going to look good and also run in a wide variety of computers.

Our progress so far

We are aiming for the game to have 5 levels, and to last around 2 to 3 hours. So far, we are almost done with the core mechanics of the game, and the first level is complete. We plan to release it later this year.

This has been first devlog, please share our project with your friends if you think they would like it! Make sure to follow us here and on Bluesky.
